Last night the state budget was passed for the first time in 3 and a half years. I think that’s good news. We’ll see.
Israeli companies raised a record 8 Billion dollars in October. That capital injection made the shekel even stronger and, at one point, hit 3.10 NIS to a US dollar. The Bank of Israel bought 30 Billion dollars to try to lift the dollar and weaken the shekel. A strong shekel makes life difficult for exporters that need to pay employees in shekels but get paid in dollars. We’ll be keeping an eye on that. 👀
Rosh Chodesh Kislev starts tonight, and sufganiyot are popping up everywhere as the excitement for Chanukah starts to fill the air. Today is the Ethiopian holiday of Sigd. I honestly don’t know too much about it, but my 4-year-old is in a kindergarten with two Ethiopian parents that came in to teach the kids about it. So he’ll grow up knowing all about it. I included an article about it below.
Finally, we’ve begun our Early Bird Special, and through next Friday, November 12th, you can save 10% on your Chanukah order with coupon EB2021.
